Why Regal

Hire the person doing the work

Regal is Chris Hoff — not a call center. That means honest pricing, careful work around your landscaping and furniture, and a phone number that reaches the owner.

Owner on every job

Chris Hoff does the work himself. No rotating subcontractors, no upsell script — the person who quotes it is the person who cleans it.

12+ years on Twin Cities glass

Storm windows, casements, wood frames, hard water spots, new-construction paint overspray — all seen before, all handled.

Streak-free or we come back

Walk the property with Chris when he's done. Anything you're not happy with gets re-cleaned before he leaves.

Straight answers on timing

You get a real arrival window and a text when he's on the way, instead of an all-day wait.

How to count your windows

Every quote is based on the number of panes of glass, not the number of openings in the wall. A pane is one sheet of glass inside a frame — so a standard double-hung window is two panes, and a bay window is three. Counting panes as you walk the house is the fastest way to get an accurate price over the phone.

Double-hung

2 panes

An upper sash and a lower sash — the most common window on Twin Cities homes.

Picture window

1 pane

One large fixed sheet of glass with no divider — counts as a single pane.

Bay / bow window

3 panes

A three-section window that bows out from the wall — count each section.

Slider / casement pair

2 panes

Two side-by-side sashes, whether they slide across or crank outward.

Transom / half-round

1 pane

The small window above a door or a larger window counts on its own.

Patio / sliding door

2 panes

Glass doors are priced like windows — two big panes per standard slider.

Count it in four steps

  1. 1Walk the outside of the house and count every pane of glass you can see, using the guide above.
  2. 2Add any glass doors, transoms and basement windows — they get cleaned too.
  3. 3Decide whether you want exterior-only, or interior and exterior with sills and tracks.
  4. 4Note anything unusual: hard water spots, high or hard-to-reach glass, storm windows.

Tell Chris about these

A few window types get quoted separately because they take extra time:

  • French windows with fixed dividers (grids between the glass)
  • Storm or combination windows that come apart
  • Skylights, or any glass that needs an interior ladder
  • Hard water staining and new-construction paint overspray

Not sure what you're looking at? Send a photo or just call — Chris will count it with you.

FAQ

Common questions

How much does window cleaning cost?+

Pricing is a flat rate based on the number of panes, how many stories and how easy the glass is to reach. Most Twin Cities homes land in a predictable range, and you get the exact number before any work starts. Estimates are always free.

Do you clean inside windows too?+

Yes. Interior and exterior is the most popular option, and it includes sills and tracks. Exterior-only is available if that's all you need.

When is the best time of year in Minnesota?+

Spring after pollen drops and fall after the leaves come down are the two big windows. Gutters are best cleared in late fall before freeze-up, and again in spring if you have heavy tree cover.

How often should windows be cleaned?+

Twice a year keeps residential glass clear of hard water and mineral etching. Storefronts and restaurants usually run monthly or quarterly.

Do you handle screens, tracks and hard water spots?+

Screens and tracks are part of a standard interior/exterior clean. Hard water and mineral staining is treated separately — Chris will tell you honestly whether it can be removed or whether the glass is already etched.

Are you insured?+

Yes — proof of insurance is available on request, and it's standard for commercial and property-management accounts.
